Text:

Oxford Dictionary of National Biography :
Lillingstone [Lillingston], Luke (1653–1713), army officer, was the son of Colonel Henry Lillingstone (1620–1676) and his second wife, Elizabeth, daughter of Marmaduke Dolman of Bottesford, Lincolnshire, and sister of Colonel Thomas Dolman of the Anglo-Dutch brigade.

Note

http://britisharmylineages.blogspot.com/2010/01/marine-regiments-anglo-dutch-connection.html
(the four English regiments were replaced by one single Dutch regiment under Thomas Dolman.) et aussi "Thomas Dolman took the oath and commanded a new Dutch regiment from 1665 until 1672. In 1676 he became colonel of the 2nd English Regiment in Dutch service" soit "Thomas Dolman a prêté serment et a commandé un nouveau régiment hollandais à partir de 1665 jusqu'en 1672.

Note

If the information provided by Oxford dictionnary is good, Thomas was behind the branch Dolman of the Netherlands, whose representatives still exist and have the same coat of arm.

According to Wikipedia, Thomas Dolman was Colonel in the Anglo-Dutch Brigade. The text about Luke Lillingstone said: "Both Lillingstone's father, Henry Lillingstone, and maternal uncle, Thomas Dolman, were colonels in the Anglo-Dutch Brigade."

There is indeed a Thomas Dolman, colonel, commanding the regiment to August 1st, 1676. ("the four English regiments were replaced by one single Dutch regiment under Thomas Dolman"..) And also "Thomas Dolman took the oath and commanded a new Dutch regiment from 1665 until 1672. In 1676 he became colonel of the 2nd English Regiment in Dutch service".

Note

Note
